Conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto

When? : 15, Nov 2020 Remind Me of this event
Visible In India? : YES

Jupiter and  Pluto will share the same right ascension, with Jupiter passing 0°41′ to the north of Pluto. The pair will become visible around 6pm and will be set around 10.30pm.

The pair will be a little too widely separated to fit comfortably within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible through a pair of binoculars. This is the best time to spot Pluto in the sky as it is a very very faint object to spot otherwise. With Jupiter shining bright in the west, one can spot Jupiter in the sky through a telescope and then look to its south to spot Pluto.
