Partial Eclipse 21st June – Streamed Live & Photos

June 21, 2020

During the Lockdown when everyone is required to maintain social distancing, it was impractical to invite people to Poornaprajna College campus and celebrate the eclipse again.

So we at PAAC decided to stream the 21st June Annular eclipse (Partial at Udupi) LIVE via. YouTube so that all PAAC members and astronomy enthusiasts could watch it from the comfort and safety of their homes.
We had a total of 1225 views during the stream. The stream was live between 10:04am to 11:48am when the clouds interrupted several times. During the weather interruption, the stream was replaced with a stellarium simulation. The response of the feed was good and we are sure all viewers enjoyed watching the eclipse. The live feed was stopped after 11:48 as the clouds were thick and it looked like we couldn’t get a view again. However, the sky cleared around 1:15pm and the 4th Contact was obtained.

Dr. A. P Bhat, our beloved founder co-ordinator, along with Principal, Dr. Raghavendra A, H.O.D Physics, Mrs. Prathibha C. Acharya were present. Mr. Ramdas Prabhu, a former student of PAAC and Mohammad Hashim, current student of PAAC were also present and helped us carry out the feed.

Here is the Eclipse Sequence:
