PAAC was invited by the Rotary Club of Manipal, who, in association with the AK-EDUSAT program, donated 5 telescopes to schools in and around Udupi. Among the schools was the host of the event, the Manipal Pre-University College on 14th January 2021.
On this occasion, the PAAC team was invited to organize a sky-watch but due to weather conditions, the sky was clear and stars not visible. However, Dr. A.P. Bhat showed the night sky to everyone present, virtually through Stellarium projected onto a large LED screen.
Atul Bhat, co-ordinator, showed the schools how to set up the telescopes for observation and how to safely dismantle and store them.
Students of PAAC were also present to assist and organize the event.
