The moon just got in between the Earth and the Moon on 26th December 2019 and we had a wonderful eclipse viewing experience at PAAC.
It’s a known fact that a solar eclipse will always be followed by lunar eclipse. Thanks to the orbital period of the moon.
This lunar eclipse is going to fall on 10th Jan 2020 which begins at 10:37pm when the moon begins passing through Earth’s Penumbra.
Penumbra is the blurry region of a shadow of an opaque object, which the moon will pass through this time.
How will this appear one earth?
Since it is a Penumbral eclipse Earth’s shadow falling on the moon is very little and hence most people might not notice the eclipse even at its peak.
The visibility of the eclipse is uninterrupted for us in India. Peaking at 12:40am and ending at 02:42am.
